Founder

Ann Krause, Owner and Founder of Ann Krause & Associates

Ann Krause is the owner and founder of Ann Krause & Associates. Ms. Krause completed a Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1985 and is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Ms. Krause completed a post graduate course in Life Care Planning in 2004 obtaining her certified Life Care Planner designation. Ms. Krause provides rehabilitation management/case management services as well as life care planning services for individuals of all ages that have sustained impairment and disability as a result of traumatic injuries, accidents or chronic illness. Ms. Krause has also provided expert testimony.

Consultants

Robin May, Case Manager, Behaviour Therapist

Robin May holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Exceptionality in Human Learning / Majoring in Psychology from the University of Toronto. Ms. May is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP), as well as the Ontario Association for Applied Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA). Ms. May has background in the provision of case management services, specializing in the care of people who have sustained catastrophic impairments as a result of traumatic injury, accidents or chronic illness. In addition, Ms. May has many years of experience in the field of applied behaviour analysis, and continues to practice actively in this area as well.

Theresa Rector, Case Manager, Occupational Therapist

Theresa Rector holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University and is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. Ms. Rector has expertise in both treatment and rehabilitation management of individuals that have sustained neurological impairments, including acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries as well as individuals sustaining amputations and complex orthopaedic injuries. Ms. Rector been providing case management services for this population for over 15 years. Ms. Rector also provides occupational therapy treatment services as well as attendant care assessments and home functional assessments. Ms. Rector is in the process of obtaining her Certified Life Care Planner designation.

Danielle Reich, Occupational Therapist

Danielle Reich holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, as well as a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and has successfully completed the University of Florida, Division of Continuing Professional Education Life Care Planning Program. Ms. Reich is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. Ms. Reich is also an Adaptive Device Program (ADP) authorizer for seating and mobility aids. Ms. Reich’s professional experience has focused on delivering occupational therapy services in community practice. Ms. Reich is available to provide community based in-home assessments, assessment of attendant care needs, life care plans and case management services for individuals with cognitive, physical, and behavioural problems resulting from injury or illness.

Jacalyn Boekestyn, Case Manager, RN

Jacalyn Boekestyn joined the Ann Krause & Associates team in July 2015.  Ms. Boekestyn provides case management services and is currently in the process of obtaining her certification in Life Care Planning.  Ms. Boekestyn has 26 years of nursing experience in hospital and community settings, with 20 years experience in psychiatric nursing.  She has been providing case management services to catastrophically injured clients since 2009.  She has excellent written and verbal communication skills and interacts positively with her clients and their team members.  We are so pleased to have Jacalyn as part of our team.

Administrative Support

Kathy Cook,  Life Care Planning Coordinator

Ms. Cook provides office management and administrative services for Ann Krause & Associates.  She has been with Ann Krause & Associates since its inception in 2007.  Ms. Cook coordinates the Life Care Planning services, and works closely with the Life Care Planner in coordinating referrals, and researching and obtaining pertinent information required for the completion of the Life Care Plans.  Ms. Cook is available to  respond and answer questions in a timely manner if other team members at Ann Krause & Associates are not immediately available.

Danielle Rennie, Office Manager/ Administrative Assistant

We are pleased to welcome Danielle Rennie to the Ann Krause & Associates team.  Ms. Rennie holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto.  Ms. Rennie has experience providing office administration in multiple medical settings and has knowledge of software systems for data entry, records management and invoicing.

Laura Krause, Administrative Assistant

Laura Krause holds a Master’s Degree in Stage and Event Management from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Production and Design from York University. She worked in the world of live theatre and opera for years, organizing and managing performances of various sizes in both North America and Europe. She is now using those skills as well as an advanced knowledge of computers and technology to assist Ann Krause & Associates from an administrative perspective. Her goal in working with AKA is to help reach maximum efficiency and hone their organizational systems.
